PartnersThis Centre of Excellence (CoE) represents the consolidation of a network of multidisciplinary EU Centres and brings together academics from four disciplines in four Asia Pacific countries in order to maximise their expertise for a wider audience. The Centre at Fudan in China is led by Professor Bingran Dai, Jean Monnet Chair of Economics. The CoE's Japanese partner is Keio University where both Professors Tanaka and Shoji hold Jean Monnet Chair in Law; in New Zealand Professor Holland of the National Centre for Research on Europe is a Jean Monnet Chair ad personam in Political Science. Professor Pascaline Winnand at the Australian Centre at Monash has expertise in the History of European Integration. Thus between the four partners the CoE provides comprehensive coverage of the main disiplines involved in EU Studies, something that no single centre can do independently. All four partners are in regular contact and cooperate informally on a number of levels, including sharing guest lecturers where possible, publications, collaborative research projects and the exchange of ideas and expertise. All members have cooperated together through the activities of the Asia Pacific EU Studies Association and the European Studies in Asia network co-funded by ASEF. |
